Fox's Den Homestead

A DREAM COMING TRUE

Welcome graphic

This homestead is situated in the center of  40 secluded rolling acres on the Missouri Ozark Plateau.  From this broad ridge the rivers either drain north or south. We are at 930 feet above sea level.

The earth sheltered home incorporates a passive solar design that provides most of the heating requirement in this unique and natural environment. The home utilizes a wood stove with firewood free for the cutting from the woodlot on the property. As a backup, a 1500 watt electric heater can provide all the heat necessary, even on the coldest days.  Two stocked ponds, abundant pasture grass and 7 acres of woods on the property offer a great opportunity for hunting, fishing or raising livestock.  Solar pump irrigation using water from the pond  makes gardening easy and a pleasure even during the warm dry months of late summer. As a bonus, if you don't mind getting up early in the cool of the morning, you can pick all the wild blackberries you could possibly want in the 3 acre patch.

Located two hours from Kansas City and thirty minutes from Joplin this home offers the best of both worlds.  With 1200 square feet of living space and a beautiful view from your front door, this is country living at its finest.
